Finding Our Ancestors, and Sharing Their Stories

Ready for RootsTech 2017

The week of RootsTech has finally arrived! I have spent many, many hours over the last few months preparing for this awesome event.

As an attendee I have:

  • downloaded the RootsTech app
  • marked the classes I am interested in attending (too many to fit the schedule)
  • highlighted the Expo Hall booths I want to visit, including notes on specific things I want to ask or do at those booths
  • planned some networking and/or social activities outside of the basic RootsTech offerings

As a speaker I have:

  • coordinated with my fellow panel speakers
  • prepared my portion of the syllabus
  • prepared my portion of the presentation slides
  • practiced my presentation
  • been fickle about just which outfit to wear

As an exhibitor I have:

  • designed several elements for our new product features
  • beta tested all the new features we are rolling out
  • designed and printed flyers for both our products
  • designed a new line of logo t-shirts, tote bags and other merchandise to go with our products
  • ordered sample merchandise to display at our booth
  • prepared additional posters and infographics for our display

I think I’m finally ready. I hope I am finally ready. I am ready to be ready already! Now on to the week of amazing genealogy-overwhelm! If you will be attending RootsTech, I’d enjoy meeting you in person. Come see me at booth #1743 and learn about Little Family Tree and GenQuizitive. I also invite you to attend our class “Kid Genealogists: Inspiring the Next Generation” (RT 8918) on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 3 pm in room 250D.
