My wonderful grandmother passed away yesterday, on 16 February 2010.

Billee Kathryn Corn lived a long and full life of 92 years. I will miss her so much!!

Love you Gramma! I imagine you are so happy to be with Grandpa after 45 years! And with your son Rick.

I am sure there are smiles and hugs all around. God be with you until we meet again!

School Craft

The twins have decided to call project time with mommy “school-craft.” So, here is the school-craft we did today: making necklaces with shoelaces and all the things I could find around the house with a hole in them. It was a lot of fun. Then the girls wore them to the grocery store and the cashiers all thought they were very fashionable.

I love first grade spelling!

I think the intended meaning was “A vampire was walking up a hill.” But what it looks like it says made me laugh so much harder!

Rebekah’s Bedtime Stories for Trixie

We had just put Trixie in her kennel for the night, when Rebekah brought over a story book and started “reading” a bedtime story to Trixie.

Our Trip to Bear Lake

This year we wanted to take a week-long really laid back and relaxing family vacation. So we loaded up the “funny house” (the pop-up trailer) and headed up to Bear Lake. We stopped in Logan for lunch on the way up and then stopped again for pictures at the overlook.

We stayed at the Bear Lake KOA, which I would highly recommend to anyone heading to Bear Lake for a trip. It is a great, family oriented campground with very helpful staff and really clean facilities.

The second day of our trip we headed down to Rendezvous Beach to spend the day playing in the sand and the water. The older kids were excited to get in their floaties and out in the water. Kathryn was a little overwhelmed by the whole thing and was happiest wrapped in a towel and watching from the sidelines. Rebekah was all about making the sandcastle.

That evening we went to get raspberry shakes, a tradition you have to do at Bear Lake!

The third day we woke up to find a calf right by our trailer in the KOA. We had seen her the night before on our way back in back behind the KOA and wondered if someone would come get her. Apparently not. The KOA manager called her owner and she was picked up within the half-hour. That was our big brush with “wildlife” on our trip.

This day we headed for the west side of Bear Lake to find some fun sandbars to play on. The morning was overcast and it was nice and cool. John and I tried to have a nice walk down the beach and you can see from the pictures that we had a little parade right behind us. The kids tried new things on their floaties, like using sticks for oars. Emily collected lots of pretty shells for a collage art project. The twins both got into throwing sand around. I figured, we were at the beach, so why not? For the most part they aimed away from people, but John and I got sand in the face a couple of times.

I will post more from our trip next week, hopefully. This afternoon I am getting LASIK surgery on my eyes and I have to refrain from computer work for a week or so. Wish me luck!
