Text: "William R. Boyd, sixth child of Robert and Jane Ramsey Boyd, born October 25, 1804; died January, 1887, aged eighty-three years. Buried in the Methodist Episcopal Cemetery at White Eyes Church, White Eyes Township, Coshocton County, Ohio. He married Isabelle Finley in 1836. To this union twelve children were born, Jane, Mary, John Finley, William Ramsey, George, Margaret, Alice, Richard Watson, Florence, Alexander Finley, Robert, and twins, deceased in infancy.

"The White Eyes Methodis Church was organized about 1852. In that year the first house of worship, a frame building, was erected on the lot donated by William R. Boyd, in the southeast quarter of section 6. Rev. Boggs was teh first minister. The early members included Robert R. Boyd and wife, Robert Adams and wife, William Adams and wife, William Carnahan and wife, Francis Boyd and wife, Mrs. Isabella Boyd, Mary Boyd, and Mrs. Nancy McCoullough. The present church was errected in 1876. It is a neat frame, thirty by thirty-six feet in size. The Pastor is Rev. T. G. Roberts. The membership is seventy-three. A Sunday-school is held only during the summer."
