This holiday season more than most, I have piled a whole lot of extra deadlines upon myself. All for very good goals. But it is keeping me hopping busy, on top of a full schedule of regular family life, homeschool, and holiday activities. I am happy to say that John and I made it past the first, biggest deadline on December 1st when we finished our two submissions for the RootsTech 2017 Innovator Showdown.
We have submitted the Little Family Tree app for the second time. We have now been working on this app for two years since conception and it has come a long way. See our new introduction video for Little Family Tree:
Our second submission is GenQuizitive, a social genealogy quiz app, that we have been working on for a mere six months. This app is just in its first beta testing stage, but has a lot of potential to reach a broader, non-genealogist audience. See our submission video for GenQuizitive:
For the rest of the month, I will be working on three other goals:
1. Complete the slideshow for the class I will be co-teaching at RootsTech 2017.
2. Submit class proposals for the 2017 BYU Family History and Genealogy Conference and the myFamily History Youth Camp. Due Dec. 19
3. **Get over my jittery nerves** and submit a scholarship application to the Ancestry ProGenealogists Scholarship Program. Due Dec. 31

Congrats on the Little Tree App. It was one that stood out to be. Best of luck. We’ll have to meet up in person at RootsTech. I’m teaching on Friday afternoon, so anytime between Thursday morning or Friday night would be awesome. Good luck on the BYU submissions. I missed the Youth Camp, but living in Texas and without family in Utah, it’s tough making it out there multiple times. Anyway… I hope you meet your deadlines. Positive vibes coming your way.
BTW… I LOVE the look of your blog. I’m desperately in need of an overhaul. This was a lovely inspiration.

Thanks, Devon! I appreciate the positive vibes and encouragement. I would love to meet up at RootsTech. Once I know the outcome of the first round of judging for the Innovator Showdown, I can start scheduling my time at the conference. Fingers crossed!
